WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU VISIT

Visiting a church for the first time can sometimes feel uncomfortable.
So, here are a few things to help you feel more at home.

What to Wear
Wunderstand that some people want to know what to wear so they feel comfortable. We have those who dress semi-formally and casually. You will fit in if you dress up or simply wear jeans and a t-shirt.

Childcare (Currently, we are not offering childcare due to COVID-19)
We love children at Oakdale! We have a nursery for children from birth through 35 months staffed with scheduled volunteers during the Sunday School hour and the worship service. A mother’s private nursing room is located in the back area of the nursery.

After the music portion of the worship service, children three to five years old are invited to take part in Children’s Church located in one of the Sunday School rooms. Volunteers lead the children in a Bible lesson and activities for the remainder of the worship service.  At the same time, older children may go to the foyer to get a busy bag to bring into the service with activities for children with busy hands and minds.

Worship Service
In our worship service, we will sing about who God is and what he has done for us,  We will pray to our Heavenly Father with thankful hearts and bring our needs before him. We will hear a Gospel-focused message from the Bible. The worship usually lasts about an hour and 15 minutes.

When You Arrive
Expect to be greeted when you enter the foyer.  We have official greeters at the front doors. Our congregation tends to be extra friendly so you may be welcomed by many people.  Our greeters will help you get orientated and find your way around. If you have any additional questions, please ask.  We are here to serve!
