MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES:

 

Men’s Theological Reading Group.  Sign up in the foyer if you would like a book.  We will read through The Message of Ephesians, by John Stott.  We will meet on Friday mornings at 6:30 AM for breakfast and discussion at the Family Table in Cherokee.  Our first meeting will be October 30.  

GENERAL BOARD MEETING – There will be a brief General Board Meeting tonight at 7:30 pm following the Treasure Principle discussion.

The Treasure Principle continues this Sunday (Oct. 18) at Oakdale! Treasure Principle Video Discussion series this Sunday Evening. Light meal at 5:00 PM in the fellowship hall.  Families with last names beginning N-Z please bring sandwiches and A-M please bring bars or snacks.  (We will flip-flop who is bringing sandwiches and snacks each Sunday.)
Video session in the Sanctuary beginning at 6:00 PM
-    Treasure Principle Bible Study discussions with family clusters from 6:30 – 7:15 PM.
-    There will be nursery provided for 0 through 2 year olds.
-    After the video session there will be activities for children ages 3-5 in the Sunday School opening exercises room.  Children ages 6-12 will also be able to meet together with some adults for their own activity after the video session.

LADIES – You are invited to be a guest at Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina on November 1st at 2:00 pm.  Guest speaker will be Kris Meyer from Waverly.  The title of her presentation will be “Heirlooms of God’s Grace”.  Kris combines a quick wit, warm spirit and lots of energy in sharing her stories.  R.S.V. JULIE’S CAR FUND.  Julie Anderson, missionary in Swaziland, Africa is in need of some new wheels.  $4,130.00 has already been received.  Our goal is to raise $7,000.  If you would like to help Julie get a new car just make your check out to Oakdale Missions Fund and put “Julie’s Car Fund” in the memo line and include it in Sunday’s offering.

High School Small Group meets TONIGHT at 5:00pm at Mark & Karen Anderson's house (420 South Cannon, Paullina.) We'll be watching and discussing session #3 of "The Big Dig" Apologetics DVD Seminar. Tonight's session will feature author Lee Strobel. You don't want to miss it. A delicious supper will be served.
 
Youth Group will plan on meeting at Hoefling's Pumpkin Patch & Corn Maze this Wednesday (weather permitting.) Meet at the Pumpkin Patch (exactly 4 miles south of the Marcus Junction Truckstop) at 7:00pm or meet at the church at 6:30pm if you need a ride over. Make sure to be watching you e-mail on Tuesday and Wednesday just in case the weather causes us to cancel again.
