HELP! Dozens of adult volunteers are needed on Sunday, October 21st for Oakdale Student Ministries' Extreme Hayride. Last year several small groups volunteered as a group to help out. What a great idea! Please help. We  need lots of adults. We need kitchen help, safety monitors, game helpers, drivers, and much more. Talk to Mark Anderson and he'll give you a job. Thanks! manderson@oakdalechurch.com

Trucks, Racks, Trailers, & Hay: We need people to bring sturdy hayracks and trailers for October 21st's Extreme Hayride. We also need pick-up trucks and people to drive them. We're also looking for LOTS of straw and hay bales. If you can help in any of these ways, please contact Eric Ivarson or Mark Anderson as soon as possible. Thanks for your help!

WOW!  We got moved in a flash....... A  "BIG" thank you  to our Oakdale family who so willingly took on the challenge of packing the truck in Sheldon on Friday evening and unpacking it on Saturday morning in Paullina in record time! Thanks to those who brought food and drink.  Much appreciated.  Al & Elaine Visscher

IF I COULD BEGIN to tell you just how much your cards, prayers and other acts of kindness have meant to me, your hearts would be encouraged and you would say with me, "How Good is our God!"  Thank you for all your expressions love.                        Judy Verploeg

Oakdale, My family and I want to thank you all for the encouragement, thoughtfulness and most importantly your prayers during our transitional time. When we needed a little help, someone was there. When we needed a little encouragement, someone was there. Even when there was nothing anyone could do, we relied on the gentle hands of our Savior Jesus Christ and prayed. Your testament as a church family is very evident. We can’t thank you enough for your friendships.

2007 seems to be flying by.  A great tax break is available ONLY until Dec. 31 of 2007 for those 70 1/2 and older.  If you have an IRA you can, for the balance of this year, make a direct distribution of those assets to the church and it is tax free.  Taking advantage of this provision can help satisfy required minimum distributions for 2007 and more, up to $100,000 per person.  This amount would not be counted in your itemized deductions and could reduce the taxability of Social Security income.  Gifts must be made directly to the church and not pass through your hands.  Talk to your tax preparer if this sounds good to you.

IF YOU DESIRE prayer or spiritual counsel, following the service there will be a couple available to meet with you on the right hand side of the platform.

Attention all Jr. & Sr. High Students!

Extreme Hayride is coming Sunday, October 21st from 4-9pm! Invite all your friends to this awesome night. They'll love it! Boys need to bring chips and pop. Girls need to bring cookies and pop.
