MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES:

Men’s Theological Reading group will meet this Friday, 12 Noon at the Old P. O. Restaurant in Sutherland.  Read chapter 2 of  “Adopted by God” by Robert Peterson to prepare for the discussion.  Men, it’s not too late to join us, talk with Pastor Clint if you are interested.

Family Night, Next Sunday, May 4, at 7:00 PM.  Join us for a special Family Night Service and fellowship time next Sunday night as we will hear from Lucas and Teresa Bair.  The Bair’s will share about God’s call for them to go to Brazil to help plant churches. 

Men’s Breakfast with Dr. Tim Wester.    Saturday, May 10 there will be a special Men’s Breakfast at The Family Table in Cherokee at 8 AM.  Dr. Tim Wester, Missionary to Central African Republic, will visit with us about life in Africa and God’s Work there.

Join the Westers for coffee and doughnuts.  Sunday morning, May 11, Dr. Tim and Ann Wester will join us during the Sunday School hour and give a report of the Lord’s work in the Central African Republic.  Your favorite doughnuts and coffee will be served as we welcome the Tim and Ann back to Oakdale.

Women, you are invited to take part in the “Just Give Me Jesus” Bible study even if you will not be able to attend the conference.  Please sign up or talk with Christi Patterson if you are interested.

There will be an All-Church Potluck following our morning worship service today.  This will be an opportunity for the Oakdale Family-Cluster groups to meet and visit with their deacon or deaconess.   Please bring some food to share.

THERE ARE MANY people who faithfully volunteer at Paullina Care Center.  The Residents and Staff would like to honor our volunteers by inviting you to an Open House at the Care Center.  It will be Tuesday, April 29^th from 2:00 – 4:00 pm.  Refreshments will be served.  At 2:30 pm the residents will present musical selections played on the handbells.

ALL LADIES AND YOUNG WOMEN are invited to a bridal shower for Bethany Peters, the future bride of Joshua Hancock, hosted by his aunt Debra Zupke at Valley View at 3:00 pm on May 4^th.

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK everyone for all your prayers, cards, flowers and thoughts of kindness while I was sick in the hospitals and recovering at home.  I am feeling much better now.  A special thanks to Pastor Clint and Merle and Eleda Wester for their visits.  God was watching over me all the time.   God bless, Jim Anderson

THE COMMUNITY NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER program will be held in the Laue Room at the Community building at 7:30 am on Thursday May 1.  The speaker this year will be Dick Nervig and the music will be provided by Verla Hibbing.  There will be rolls, juice and coffee served.  High school students will meet at 7:00 am in Mr. Brasser’s science room.  There will be a breakfast following.

Attention all Jr. & Sr. High Students!

Prince Caspian Audio Book Listening Party Session # 2 is TONIGHT! We'll get started at 5:00pm in the youth room. Supper will be served. Come prepared to get comfortable and to have an awesome listening experience. This event is for Jr. High & High School Students.

Youth Group: There's only 5 more youth group meetings left this year. Don't miss a single one! All Jr. High and High school students are invited to join us Wednesday at 7:00pm for worship, food, fun, and the next lesson in our 20 Basics study. Invite a friend. You'll be glad you did!

Prince Caspian Opening Night Movie Event is coming on Friday, May 16. **To take part in this event you must get $8.00 to Mark Anderson by Wednesday, May 7th.** On Friday, May 16th we'll meet at Mark's house in Paullina at 5:30pm for a Prince Caspian Tailgate Party with hotdogs, chips, & pop. Then at 6:00pm we'll hop in some vans and head to Orange City for a 7:00pm showing of the movie. Come join the fun!
