MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES:

Men’s Theological Reading Group  will meet this Friday, Mar 14, 6:30 AM at the Family Table in Cherokee.  We will discuss chapter 10 of “The Holiness of God.” 

Tonight - Hidden Acres Family Night with Camp Director Earl Taylor at 7 PM.  Earl will give us a report on what the Lord has done at Hidden Acres our Free Church District camp.  We will be taking an offering to help send kids to camp this summer.  There will be a fellowship to follow, please bring a snack to share.

CHRISTIAN SEDER MEAL on Sunday, March 16, at 6:00pm. All ages are invited to experience the Christian significance to the Jewish Passover celebration. There is a sign up sheet in the foyer.  A free-will offering will be taken to defray the cost of the caterer.  Plan now to attend and see how Christ is foretold throughout the Passover story.

Good Friday service will be at 7:00 PM, March 21. 

Burn The Mortgage - A celebration is being planned for April 13^th to burn the mortgage on our building. There are two things you can do. First, as God leads, give to the building fund so that we have a zero balance by April 13^th.. Second, hold the evening of April 13^th  at 6:30pm open so you can celebrate with the Oakdale family what God has done.

Free Women’s Conference.  “Just Give Me Jesus” women’s conference featuring Anne Graham Lotz is April 18 and 19 in Des Moines.  A 7 week Bible Study that will follow the conference is planned  for a  later in the year.  If you are interested in going to the conference or being a part of the Bible Study there is a signup sheet in the foyer. 

SERMON ALA CARTE every Wednesday at 12:05.  Theme for 2008 “The Symbols of Lent”.  Pastor Clint will be speaking on Wednesday March 12^th.  Sign up sheet in foyer for 15 salads, 7 pans of bars, and 6 workers.

Dear Oakdale Family,

I have been working as a registered nurse and going to school at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago for 1.5 years now!  I became a member of Park Community Church and am going on a short-term medical trip with them to Istanbul, Turkey, April 15-22.  We will be doing medical screening and assessments out of the Istanbul Protestant Foundation, which is the first legally recognized Protestant church in Turkey!  We are responsible to raise 50% of our support by March 15.  Please stand behind our team in prayer and if you would like to make a financial contribution you can make your checks payable to Park CC, memo "Istanbul Medical Team."  Thank you so much for your continued support!  I miss you all so much!     Love, Leah Lundquist

BUILDING BOX

Funds borrowed to date:                               $    30,000.00

Capital Improvement Fund - The General Board has set up a capital improvement fund in the budget. Any money given to the building that exceeds the amount we owe will go into that fund. Once the debt is paid off we will use this fund for unfinished projects i.e. stained glass, bell tower, sign, etc.

IF YOU DESIRE prayer or spiritual counsel, following the service there will be a couple available to meet with you on the right hand side of the platform.

18^TH ANNUAL SPORTSMEN’S RETREAT “24 Hours With The guys & More” at Hidden Acres Christian Center March 28-30 or April 4-5, 2008.  If you are interested, stop in the secretary’s office for more information and a registration form.

Attention all Jr. & Sr. High Students!

Youth Group- All Jr. High and High School students are invited to join us for youth group this Wednesday night at 7:00pm. Join us here at the church for praise & worship, food, fun, and the next session in our 20 Basics Bible study. We've been having a great time the last few weeks! Make sure to invite a friend!

CHALLENGE 2008 is the EFCA's National Youth Conference that happens this summer (June 29-July 4.) If you are currently in 9th-12th grade and want to sign up you need to get a $100 non-refundable deposit and a completed Challenge Behavior Expectations form to Mark Anderson by March 12th.

The Student & Parent Bowling Event originally scheduled for March 16th has been postponed until April. More details coming soon.

Remedy Drive Concert at Summit EFC in Alta is Sunday night March 30th. Tickets are $10 and must be purchased through Mark Anderson by Wednesday, March 26th.

Senior's Night Out will be Sunday, April 6th.
