MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES:

Men’s Theological Reading Group  will meet this Friday, Feb. 29, 6:30 AM at the Family Table in Cherokee.  We will discuss chapter 8 of “The Holiness of God.”

John Gerhardt from Urban Impact in New Orleans will be here next Sunday morning, March 2.  He will be sharing with us during the Sunday School hour and will give the message in our morning worship service.

Hidden Acres Family Night with Camp Director Earl Taylor will be held Sunday, March 9 at 7 PM.  Earl will give us a report on what the Lord has done at Hidden Acres, our Free Church District camp.  There will be a fellowship to follow.

CHRISTIAN SEDER MEAL on Sunday, March 16, at 6:00pm. All ages are invited to experience the Christian significance to the Jewish Passover celebration. Details will follow. Plan now to attend and see how Christ is foretold throughout the Passover story.

WOMEN!  Come one, come all to the Women's Ministry Annual Meeting!!  You don't have to be an Oakdale Member to take part - just be female!  We're meeting here at the church on Monday, February 25th at 7pm for fun, fellowship, election of officers, and a chance to hear about what's going on in Women's Ministry and how you can get plugged in.

Burn The Mortgage - A celebration is being planned for April 13th to burn the mortgage on our building. There are two things you can do. First, as God leads, give to the building fund so that we have a zero balance by April 13th. Second, hold the evening of April 13th at 6:30pm open so you can celebrate with the Oakdale family what God has done.

Free Women’s Conference.  The “Just Give Me Jesus” women’s conference featuring Anne Graham Lotz will be held April 18 and 19 in Des Moines.  There will be a 7 week Bible Study that will follow the conference that we are planning for a little later in the year.  If you are interested in going to the conference or being a part of the Bible Study please visit with Christi Patterson. 

I JUST WANT YOU all to know that Ron has come home -- on Feb 9th.  He has home health care a few times a week and is doing much better.  We hope that the kidney stone has passed but won't know that until they run tests.  Thank you for all the prayers, cards, phone calls and love you have sent our way during the past 7 weeks.  God Bless you.  Ron and Lori Simm

Movie & Ministry "National Treasure" Event tonight, Feb. 24. We'll meet at Mark & Karen's house in Paullina at 6:00pm for a light supper and Bible study called, "Jesus, A Treasure More Valuable Than Words." Then we'll head to the Wonderland Theater for a 7:30pm showing of National Treasure: Book of Secrets. Movie admission is $2.50 per person.
