CHRISTMAS PROGRAM 2005- Joy to the World: An Oakdale Christmas Celebration will be Sunday night, December 18th at 7:00pm. Prelude starts at 6:45pm and a time of fellowship will follow the program. DO YOU PLAY AN INSTRUMENT? Anyone (adult or youth) who plays an instrument and would like to play in the Mixed Bag Orchestra for the Christmas program (Dec. 18) is invited to a potluck and rehearsal on Sunday, Dec. 11th immediately after the morning worship service. Bring your family and some food to share for the potluck, then instrumentalists will stay for rehearsal. Contact David Brown for more information. EXCITING NEWS! Clint Hogrefe has accepted the call to be Oakdale’s new senior pastor! He and his wife, Greta, will begin serving at Oakdale in January. Joan and Joe Traylor MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES: The fall quarter of Adult Sunday School has begun Two classes are being offered, each beginning at 9:30. Joel Anderson is teaching a class entitled "Doing Life Together." This class is for college and career age students, young couples and couples with young families and meets in the parsonage. Gene Peterson is teaching a class in the church basement entitled "So You Want to be Like Christ," with material based on a Chuck Swindoll book. NEED ADDRESSES!! Wednesday Night Youth Group on Nov. 30th- We’ll spend the next 2 Wednesday nights listening to Focus on the Family’s acclaimed radio drama version of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. By doing this we’ll become very acquainted with the actual story before we see the movie. There will be plenty of junk food on hand as we turn out the lights and listen to this awesome story. Feel free to bring your own pillow if you want to get really comfortable! (These sessions will run a little longer than normal. Tell your parents we’ll be finished between 8:30-8:45pm.)
