MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES:

Men’s Theological Reading Group will not meet for the next two weeks.  Our next meeting will be Friday, Nov. 30.  Please read chapter 2 of “Why Does God Allow War?” for our discussion on the 30^th.  If you are interested in taking part, but did not sign up, please talk with Pastor Clint.

Family Night Service tonight at 7:00 PM!  Plan to join us tonight as EFCA Missionaries Woody and Sherry Winters will share about their ministry in Mongolia.  We will have a time of fellowship to follow the service.

Special Family Night Service with Al Visscher next Sunday!  Plan to join us next week Nov. 18 as Al Visscher will share with us testimony, and music.  The service will begin at 6:00 PM at we will have a time of fellowship to follow. 

For this year’s Thanksgiving offering you have a choice.  You may designate your offering to go towards the Hidden Acres new construction project, “the Motel Lodge,” or you may designate your check to help retire our debt on the new building.  All undesignated funds will be divided up between Hidden Acres and our building fund.

NOMINATION WORKSHEETS  need to be returned by November 25^th.

ATTENTION ALL WOMEN: Please join us Thursday, Nov. 15th at 7:00 p.m. as we welcome home Julie Anderson, missionary to Swaziland. Julie is the daughter of Gust & Dixie Anderson and the sister of Pastor Mark and Joel and grew up here at Oakdale. She will be sharing about her ministry with us. Please come for a light supper and a fun evening!  A nursery will be provided.

IMPACT Scholarships: IMPACT is a winter retreat for high school students that is organized by the EFCA's Central District Student Ministries. IMPACT is a high quality outreach event that is always a highlight for our students. We want as many students as possible to go to IMPACT and we don't want the cost to keep them from attending. If you would like to sponsor a student by providing a scholarship (retreat cost is $125 per person) please talk to Mark Anderson.

Attention all Jr. & Sr. High Students!

 Youth Group: All High School and Jr. High students are invited to join us for youth group this coming Wednesday night. We've been having a great turn-out week after week. It's great to see so many students at youth group! Keep inviting your friends. Join us this Wednesday for the next session in our 20 Basics study, "What is Creation?" There will also be plenty of food and fun. See you Wednesday at 7:00pm!

IMPACT is Just Around the Corner! IMPACT (High School Winter Retreat in Des Moines) is coming up December 28-30. Mark has registration brochures to hand out. Cost is $125 per person. Money and registration forms are due on or before December 2nd. Sign-up for this awesome retreat featuring Remedy Drive, Ductape Comedy, and Greg Speck. We encourage you to invite a friend, just make sure their money and registration is turned in by December 2nd.

Winter Blast (Jr. High Winter Retreat at Hidden Acres) will be January 25-27. Mark your calendars. Registration brochures coming soon.

JOHN & DONNA BEIER have consented to care for all the plants inside the building.  They will do all the watering, etc.

SILENT AUCTION - A silent auction has started and run through the month of November. Included in the auction will be items of sentimental value from the old building. Auctioned items will include pews, some stained glass, and other items that hold meaning for the Oakdale family. Please see Verdene Paulsen to sign up to be included in the auction. She also will have an information sheet describing how the auction will work. A catalog of photos of the items to be auctioned will be in the library. If you wish to look at the items themselves you can arrange that with Pastor Clint, Verdene or Gene Petersen.

AUDIO CD’S OF OAKDALE’S SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE are now available.  If you would like a recording of any of Oakdale’s Sunday Morning Services since moving into the new building we have them available either in a cassette tape or a Compact Disc.  Please share these with folks from Oakdale who are unable to come on Sundays.  Maybe pass them on to a friend in need?  Please make your requests for the tapes and CD’s with the church office.

Dear Oakdale Family,  Words cannot express the depth of our gratitude for your outpouring of prayers and support during our time of grieving Mom’s/Grandma’s homegoing.  Wendell’s mom will be so missed.  But your support has helped us so much.

    Pastor Clint, you are such a priceless blessing to us.  God used you so mightily!  Dave, your beautiful rendition of “Give Me Jesus” deeply blessed us.  Jill, your talented piano playing really blessed us, too. Thank you. 
   To attendees of Mom’s/Grandma’s visitation and/or funeral:  We remember each of your faces.  Your presence was precious to us.  Oh, how we thank you.

   Thank you all for making our family feel bigger.  You are our family.
