MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES:

Men’s Theological Reading Group will begin this Friday, November 2.  We will meet at The Family Table in Cherokee for breakfast and discussion at 6:30 AM.  We will begin by reading “Why Does God Allow War?” by Dr. D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones.  This week Pastor Clint will present a brief biography of “the Doctor” and an introduction to the book.  There is a sign-up sheet in the foyer.

Special “Family Night” next Sunday night!  Plan to join us next Sunday evening at Oakdale as Al Visscher will be sharing with us about the journey God has led him and Elaine on this past year.  Come hear of the grace and mercy of God experienced through trials.  We will have a time of fellowship to follow the service.

ATTENTION ALL PHOTOGRAPHERS  - We need a good quality copy of the painting that is on the sanctuary wall in the old building. In the next few weeks please contact Verdene or Pastor Clint for a key to the old building and photograph that painting. Finished copies can been given to Gene Petersen.

THE GENERAL BOARD has voted to support Kelly & Kory Capps during their time in seminary. We will be sending them each $1000.00 per year. If you would like to give to help with this please mark your checks (Capps-seminary) in the memo line and put in to any offering.

GENERAL FUND: The general fund has been running urgently tight for the last couple of months.  If you are able, please help us finish the year strong.  Mark you checks for the general fund and give generously as God provides.

WALKING MINISTRY OPPORTUNITY – Some have shown an interest in walking the hallways of Oakdale during the cold months for exercise.  If you are interested in leading such a ministry, please speak with Gene Petersen.

SIGN UP TO BE A GREETER – You will have an opportunity to help greet on Sunday mornings.  We still need between 10-15 volunteers.  Please sign up at the name tag table.

Family Fun Day at Pistol Pete's Junction- This afternoon several families will be getting together after church for a potluck and an afternoon of fun at Pistol Pete's Junction near Peterson, IA (weather permitting.) If you would like to join us for this casual afternoon of family fun please contact Doug Stout or Mark Anderson for more information.

Attention all Jr. & Sr. High Students!

 Youth Group- All Jr. High and High School Students (and their friends) are invited to join us for youth group this Wednesday night at 7:00pm. There will be Bible study, food, fun, and prayer. See you Wednesday night!

Attention High School Students: The Movie and Ministry Small Group Event that was scheduled for next Sunday night has been postponed due to the family night service at church. Watch for another Movie and Ministry night coming later this month.
