MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES:

Men’s Theological Reading Group will begin November 2.  This year we will be reading two classic but brief books together, “Why Does God Allow War?” by D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones, and “The Holiness of God” by R. C. Sproul.  We will meet together Friday mornings at 6:30 AM for breakfast and discussion in Cherokee.  There is a sign-up sheet in the foyer.

LADIES – THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE! – If you are not able to attend the Women’s Bible study on Tuesday evenings but would like to view the teaching DVDs, use the same discussion questions for your own study or augment your use of the lesson book, a backup copy of the DVD will be available to view on the computer in the study room just off the library.  Easy to follow instructions are there for you.

Also ... if you missed some of the Beth Moore, Believing God teaching sessions from this summer's study, backup copies of those DVDs are available to check out in the library.

ATTENTION ALL PHOTOGRAPHERS  - We need a good quality copy of the painting that is on the sanctuary wall in the old building. In the next few weeks please contact Verdene or Pastor Clint for a key to the old building and photograph that painting. Finished copies can been given to Gene Petersen.

THE GENERAL BOARD has voted to support Kelly & Kory Capps during their time in seminary. We will be sending them each $1000.00 per year. If you would like to give to help with this please mark your checks (Capps-seminary) in the memo line and put in to any offering.

GENERAL FUND: The general fund has been running urgently tight for the last couple of months.  If you are able, please help us finish the year strong.  Mark you checks for the general fund and give generously as God provides.

THANKS TO EVERYONE who provided warm greetings, introductions, and hospitality for last weekend's missionary conference speakers. The work of the serving committees, the singing of the children and the men's quartet, the posting of the flags by the youth, and everyone's prayers and financial giving made the events special.  It was a joy to hear each speaker testify of their love for the Gospel and their dedicated passion for a specific area or people!     -Missions Committee

THE FAMILY OF Dorothy Powers-Haney would like to thank Pastor Clint, Dave Brown and Jill Freed along with the funeral committee and all the wonderful friends who attended her Memorial Service.  It meant so much to us and we know Dorothy is looking down smiling on all of you.  A heartfelt thanks from her children, grandchildren, sister, nieces and nephews.                            The Powers and Straub Families.

Attention all Jr. & Sr. High Students!

 EXTREME HAYRIDE IS TODAY AT 4:00!!! Don't be late! This event is open to all Jr. High & High School students. There will be a LOT of kids here tonight, so it's very important that you remember to bring your food and drink items! Please make sure they're dropped off at Valley View no later than 4:00pm. Here's what you need to bring:

Boys- Chips and Pop

Girls- Cookies or Bars and Pop 

Greg & Rebecca Sparks will be in concert at Oakdale this coming Saturday, October 27th at 7:00pm. The youth group will be having a special "Pre-Show Party" before the concert starting at 5:30pm. There will be pizza, Jones Soda, and some fun prizes. Come to this concert and bring all your friends. You'll be glad you did!

Youth Group: All Jr. High and High School Students (and their friends) are invited to join us for Youth Group this Wednesday night at 7:00pm. There's praise & worship, food, fun, and Bible study. It's a great time.

IMPACT (High School Winter Retreat in Des Moines) is December 28-30. Mark your calendars. Details coming soon.
